Might just come down to personal preference. I just did a quick A/B test with a Canadian original and the MOFI is indeed cleaner and clearer, as you'd expect, but the hi-hats are almost like a drum machine, so something's off there. The original copy isn't as polished and pristine, but it's got that natural, vintage vibe that breathes life into the music. It's fuller in the midrange, and even if it's not as crystal clear, it's not lacking in clarity. It's noisier than the MOFI's pitch-black silent background, but it's got more charm and feels more analog. I'm sorry, but the MOFI sounds more like a CD. But when I compared the MOFI to Tidal, of course, it sounds better, so it's got that going for it.
After 13 years since his first album, he's still delivering top-notch work. As always, the songwriting is excellent, and the performances and recording quality are impeccable. Standout tracks include "Tangled Up In Blue", "Simple Twist Of Fate", and "Idiot Wind". His signature harmonica sound is as powerful as a freight train. The pressing sounds fantastic. Highly recommended. 3.5 stars.
I gotta say, I'm right there with the others on this one - this is an amazing pressing. The sound is so full and vibrant in stereo. It's definitely one of his very best, and he's got some all-time great albums. I absolutely adore 'Meet Me in the Morning'. Any Dylan fan should definitely have this one in their collection.
This album might just be the most incredible listening experience I've ever had. In my opinion, it's a top 5 contender, and with its amazing sound quality, it's definitely a record I'll treasure in my collection for years to come.
Electronic yet sounds fantastic! There's a touch of background noise but it's only heard during calm sections.
