This "lost album" music reminds me of what you'd find on British psych compilations, particularly a style known as Toytown. I'm a big fan of that kind of stuff, which is why this came as a pleasant surprise. Sure, the production and arrangements hop on a couple of trendy bandwagons, but the songs are well-crafted, and it's a fun listen. This is the RSD mono pressing, and I've got no issues with the vinyl β it sounds fantastic, with a rich and impressively wide soundstage. My copy is flat, clean, and quiet, except for a hint of faint surface noise at the start of side two. Really good stuff.
I didn't expect much from this "lost" album, but it's absolutely fantastic. The pressing is top-notch with zero skips, bumps, or noise. The cover art is stunning and any Elton John fan would adore it.
Truth be told, I reckon this album would've had a fair amount of success if it hit the shelves. I could totally envision And the Clock Goes Round or Turn to Me making a splash on the AM charts, kinda like those 60's BeeGees tunes. Absolutely brilliant album and such a gem to stumble upon. This'll no doubt be a weekend go-to for spins.
Alongside the superb quality of the tunes and words, it boasts a fantastic pressing in original mono with a clean vinyl record featuring the classic DJM label and a replica of a 60s flipback cover, complete with a generic black polylined inner sleeve in the traditional style. To sum up, a must-have release for any collector. Absolutely essential.

The psychedelic moments could have been more frequent.
