• Stones Remaster: Solid but Flawed

  This pressing is fairly good, typical of the Stones' remastered 180g releases. It's not mind-blowing but it's solid. However, if you've got a keen ear, you'll definitely notice that pesky IGD issue on this one.

  This album by the Stones is seriously overlooked and it's right up there, possibly even my top favorite. Sure, their sound has evolved by this point, but it's a change I really appreciate, especially with the soulful vibe in certain tracks like 'Tops' and 'Waiting for a Friend'.

• Japanese vs UK Pressing Differences

  The initial Japanese pressing offers a more open top end, with improved stereo separation and clearer instrument definition. The bass is surprisingly good, unlike many other Japanese pressings. Meanwhile, the UK first press A3/B2 variant delivers a stronger low end punch, but it comes with a noisier background and a narrower soundstage, along with less instrument definition.

  This album is quite enjoyable. The process behind it might not be remarkable, but as they say, the outcome is what matters, and it's pretty effective. There isn't a single track that I'd skip on either side. It's all good, with a few standout songs and a couple of classics. The sound quality is fine to my ears. I'm lucky to have found a great condition copy, and I'm happy to have it. By the way, is that supposed to be Mick Jagger on the cover? I've heard rumors it's meant to be him. I can see that it's Keith Richards on the back, but that front cover doesn't look like Jagger to me.

• Stones' Masterpiece with Rollins' Sax

  This is certainly among the best albums by the Stones. Every song is fantastic, but "Slave" and "Waiting On A Friend" are absolute masterpieces. I truly love how the album is structured, with the rock tracks on the A side and the mellower ones on the B side. But what truly elevates this album is Sonny Rollins' incredible sax solo on "Slave", "Neighbors", and "Waiting On A Friend".
