Fantastic record quality. Packed with punch and energy. The Rolling Stones just keep on delivering hit after hit. Absolutely brilliant.
The vinyl is really good, it's smooth and silent with a great midrange and bass. I'm pleased with it.
In my opinion, this is the top-notch AAA pressing you can get. It's a breeze to spot this one still brand new and unopened.
Exile wasn't exactly an audiophile album, but this version truly captures the Stones' raw, bluesy essence just as they intended. Bob Ludwig's mastering is spot on, and RTI's pressing is clean and flat, just like it should be.
Let me be honest, this isn't my favorite Stone record. It's a bit too much of everything, a chaotic blend, they were in the midst of sessions fueled by plenty of booze and other substances, and that's exactly how it was captured. So if you're searching for a polished demo, this ain't it. But...But this is rock'n'roll in its purest form. This complete mess is what rock is all about, no rules but your own, and it's loud, hedonistic, and never, ever, in control. So it's a snapshot of a time that's probably gone now, and as such, it deserves a spot in every rock lover's collection. The recording quality is as good as it gets, the packaging is a bit inconsistent with nice covers but no proper inner sleeves. All in all, it's a must-have.
