Could anyone describe how this album sounds? I ain't got nothin' by WaxTime
This pressing isn't terrible. It's got a nice, round bass and decent dynamics. But it's missing some punch, soundstage, and separation when compared to my late '60s version. The vinyl here feels a bit light, around 90 grams I'd say, and it's that dynaflex type.
In my opinion, this is fantastic! A truly lively and 'hot' pressing. It offers a wide soundstage with superb separation. The bass is tight and full, the mids are natural, and the highs are clear. The vinyl is quite heavy (~170 g), but the labels don't have deep grooves.
Wow, it sounds great! Maybe not as crisp and lively as my Speaker’s Corner reissue, but who cares about that anyway??
This ain't a flawless pressing — the loudness shifts at random moments and a few songs have some tiny pops — but it's REALLY impressive. Honestly, a fantastic album. I reckon I shelled out $16 nearby, brand new, and I've got zero regrets. I'm certain there are more polished versions out there, but I'd struggle to notice on my system. I couldn't care less about the color, but it's pretty neat.
