Bob Dylan has crafted a stunning album here. It might be a bit misundrestimated, but it's certainly a gorgeous one. The recording, production, and pressing are all top-notch, making the whole thing sound fantastic.
There's been a ton of talk about Self Portrait, ranging from harsh criticism to later-on praise. Was it a defiant contract fulfillment? Or a genuine compilation? Hard to say. Perhaps a mix of both. It feels somewhat unfinished in many aspects, from the recording and mixing to the song choices and performances. Yet, there's plenty to enjoy. I've got a pretty decent copy here. It sounds good and there's a bunch of tracks to check out.

Picked up my vinyl in Greensboro, NC (shoutout to Hippo Records, awesome store!) with a perfect match for Side 1/2, but Side 3's XSM153506-1AB and Side 4's XSM153507-1B...seriously? I never come across mismatches like this, oh well.
