I own the initial LP version, and this new one is way better when it comes to the 'air' in the tracks. By that, I mean there's more room around the instruments in the soundstage on the MoFi, it feels a tad less squashed. I'd be content forever with the original, but this new one truly sounds improved, and the price of the old ones can be quite steep, so this is still a great choice.
The audio quality is fantastic, it's clearly a tad superior to the Sony 2003 Sacd.
Level and hush, which for fresh vinyl is a small wonder for some odd reason. Hits the spot for my ears.
Hands down, this is my all-time favorite Bob Dylan record. It's a mix of things that makes it so great; the deep, genuine sounds of the instruments, Bob in a nostalgic, cheeky, and reflective mood, and those vintage vibes. I used to not be into Bob Dylan at all until I gave this album a listen. Now, I eagerly await his new stuff. Still not too keen on his seventies stuff though, there's something off-putting about his intense ranting style from that era that doesn't do it for me. Oh well, my loss.
I didn't realize this dropped 16 years ago on 9/11/01, amazing. There's already so much out there about this album, and I won't add anything new except to say it and these shows reignited my passion for this legend. I remember catching multiple nights in a row on this tour, just absolutely floored by how incredibly tight this band was, hands down the best live Dylan performances I'd witnessed up to that point. Adore how fresh this release still feels, it's got such a unique character, concept, and vibe that takes me back to his 60s and 70s work that always stood out. God Bless Bob.
