Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
Like others have mentioned, my vinyl copy has a ton of hissing, not just on "One of Us" and "Just like a Woman", but pretty much the entire LP1. Might be my setup, but I don't experience this with LP2. Bummer I got this used, otherwise I'd reach out to VMP CS :/
This is a monumental album. The 2022 reissue has RKS etched in the deadwax. I've got zero issues with the pressing, the tunes sound lively and full of energy. Side 2 has a minuscule bit of warp, but who cares? It plays just fine. Bought it new, but it needed a thorough wipe down before spinning. No noticeable surface noise to speak of.
This reissue is as stunning as everyone's been saying, with a fantastic sound and a look that's equally impressive. The orange and black marble, along with the brown marble vinyl, pairs perfectly with the cover, and the original red center labels really tie it all together. The only downside for me is the inner sleeves, which aren't poly-lined. You'll definitely want to swap those out as soon as you get it. I'm still baffled as to why they're using these terrible sleeves in 2023.
Wow, what an album. The songwriting here is truly remarkable, one of the very best. It sounds fantastic in mono too. A must-own for any dedicated Dylan fan.
The packaging is alright. I'm not too keen on the outer sleeves that seal shut. They seem to lose some grip over time and the tab gets bent. The sound is a bit too bright on my setup. But I reckon it's the remaster. My Dyan MoFi records don't have this brightness and sound much clearer.
