• Dylan's Awful Rock Phase

  This album really gets on my nerves. It's that phase of Dylan's work that I'm not too fond of. You can't make out what he's singing about, and it's a bit too rock-oriented for my liking. I preferred him during his folk days. After going through side 2, I've gotta say - I absolutely DETEST these renditions of the songs. They're truly awful. My husband's listening too and he's just as upset about it. Dylan was way better than THIS.

  This album's sound quality is quite good. As a Bob Dylan enthusiast, it's always intriguing to explore his work from specific periods. While this isn't his finest output, it beautifully captures a moment in time where Dylan is energetically performing and engaging the audience. There are some lovely instances of the crowd joining in, too, if that's your thing. I genuinely enjoy the performances, though they're not the typical early Dylan sound that many fans adore. The guitar work on this record is truly impressive.

  This album really gets on my nerves. I'm not a big fan of this era of Dylan's work. His lyrics are hard to make out and the music is a bit too rock-oriented for my liking. I preferred him when he was more folk-focused. After going through side 2, I have to say - I absolutely DESPISE these renditions of the songs. They're truly awful. Even my husband, who's listening with me, is upset by it. Dylan has put out much better work than THIS.

While this isn't his finest work, it's a snapshot of Dylan rocking out and putting his heart into the performance for the audience. There are some lovely moments where the crowd joins in with the singing, if that's your thing. I do enjoy the performances, though they're not the classic early Dylan that everyone fell in love with. The guitar playing on this album is really quite nice.
