While I can't compare the audio quality to the initial LP pressing, I truly appreciated the 2LP version from 2015. It's incredibly clean, with minimal surface noise, almost no clicks (maybe just lucky), and fantastic sound quality. Given the prices of the Near Mint first press, I see no reason not to recommend this 2LP edition of Made in Heaven. The full album length and the beautiful ambient final track “13” are a great bonus. Honestly, I give it 5 stars.
From '73 to '76, Queen's musical chemistry was at its peak, and on this album, they've rekindled that magic. The sound, though, is a bit odd—overdriven guitars, samples, and a bass that's more prominent. The drums sound natural, and Roger's performance is solid. Freddie's vocals, though, are truly masterful. Alongside "Queen II," this is vocally their best work. The album has a unique atmosphere, like a frosty November morning. "Let Me Live," for instance, has gorgeous vocal melodies, profound lyrics, and lovely choirs at the start. The background vocals are superb, with subtle changes between Roger and Freddie. It's not like Brian's early work, Roger's later stuff, or even Freddie's usual style—it's something special. Freddie truly shines here. This is an album by Freddie, for Freddie, and even with his failing health, his voice is incredible. "Mother" proves it, with its chilling and sorrowful tone, like that November morning. It's heartbreaking to think it was his last recorded song. I was fortunate to get the original '95 cassette, which sounds wonderful. The post-production could have been better, but overall, this is a fantastic album that's a joy to listen to. If you're a true Queen fan, you should definitely own it. You won't be disappointed.
Incredible drop. No distortion here, just pure, dynamic sound that's a joy to listen to. Honestly, the audio quality is far superior to the CD version. And let's not forget the tactile pleasure of handling and touching this release. Everything is top-notch. A genuine gem.
Fantastic album, and the pressing & mastering is top-notch… I haven’t listened to the original vinyl but this one sounds amazing to me…
The catalog number here is wrong. It should be CQ020, not CQ01.
