• Identical but Boomy Jazz Sound

  I purchased this version and it's identical to the 2015 half speed master, even the sleeve is the same. These masters all have a boomy sound, so I usually reduce the bass. When listening with headphones, you can pick up more details. Jazz albums have always had a dry sound, weak bass, and harsh cymbals. It's surprising that Roy Thomas Baker produced it. It doesn't have the warmth of his earlier work.

  The sound dynamics in this album are quite impressive, though not every track is a masterclass in mixing and mastering. 'Bicycle' truly shines sonically, but even if the audio quality isn't mind-blowingly perfect, it's still pretty solid. The soundstage sits nicely between the speakers, with okay, but not outstanding, instrument separation.

  Every Queen album brings me joy, and "Jazz" is surely among their finest. The pressing is top-notch, the record lies perfectly flat, and it plays with a crisp, distortion-free sound. The audio quality is superb, offering a wide stereo image and rich details. The cover and insert are made from high-quality paper. I'm thoroughly pleased and would wholeheartedly recommend it. • A Newcomer's Joyful Journey

  As a newcomer to Queen's discography, this album has always held a special place in my heart. I first purchased it at the tender age of 12, right when I was starting to explore the world of music (those truly were the days of our lives). This record blew me away. Having only been familiar with "The Game" before, I was completely unprepared for what I was about to experience. Style-wise, this marks the end of Queen's incredible era, and it still stands out brilliantly in their discography. It showcases all their strengths: the grand epics like 'Mustapha' and 'Bicycle Race' with their powerful vocals and bombast, the heavy rockers 'Fat Bottomed Girls', 'Dead On Time', and 'Let Me Entertain You', a nostalgic nod to their British roots with 'Dreamer's Ball', and the inevitable filler tracks 'If You Cant Beat Them', 'Fun It', and 'Leaving Home Aint Easy'. I've always admired how tight this band was and how distinctive their sound, with May's unmistakable leads, Taylor's heavy, reverb-drenched drums, Deacon's melodic bass lines, and of course, Mercury's incredible vocal delivery. This album has it all on full display, almost to excess, as if they knew they were about to change direction as the new decade approached. What struck me most is how much fun this album is; you can feel the joy radiating from the playful songs and their lyrics. It never takes itself too seriously, and that's what makes it even better.

  I must say, I'm taken aback by the less favorable comments here - this record absolutely shines on my Technics SL-1500c paired with an Ortofon 2m blue. The dynamics are superb, the soundstage is expansive, and the separation is top-notch. Regarding Mustapha, it's supposed to be as hushed as that in the beginning before it really gets going (in a big way).
