Product Description

Marking the legendary Black Sabbath's first studio album in an impressive 35 years, "13" is a powerful return to form for the pioneers of heavy metal. Released on January 1, 2013, under EMI, this album is a testament to the band's enduring influence and relevance in the rock and metal genres. Clocking in at a substantial 1 hour and 16 minutes, "13" is a robust collection of 12 tracks that seamlessly blend the band's signature doom-laden riffs with modern production values.

The album opens with "End Of The Beginning," setting the tone for the heavy, riff-driven journey that follows. Tracks like "God Is Dead?" and "Loner" showcase the band's ability to craft memorable, anthemic songs that resonate with their signature sound. "Zeitgeist" and "Age Of Reason" delve into more introspective themes, while "Live Forever" and "Damaged Soul" highlight the band's knack for writing emotionally charged rock anthems.

"Dear Father" and "Methademic" offer a glimpse into the darker, heavier side of Black Sabbath's music, with crushing riffs and haunting melodies. "Peace Of Mind" provides a moment of respite, showcasing the band's versatility, while "Pariah" closes the album on a high note, with a powerful, driving rhythm and soaring vocals.

The album also includes a live version of "Dirty Women," recorded in Australia in 2013, serving as a bonus track that reminds listeners of the band's electrifying live performances. "13" is a must-listen for any fan of Black Sabbath or heavy metal in general, proving that even after decades, the band's music remains as powerful and relevant as ever.

This 2019 Limited Edition Reissue 2LP set is pressed on Orange vinyl.

  • Mind-Blowing Album Experience

    5 out of 5 stars
    gcxeeb354 December 2025United States🇺🇸

After getting my setup sorted and adjusted, this album blows my mind. It sounds fuckin' incredible, way better than the CD, no comparison at all. This is hands down the best way to experience this album because of the heavy compression on the original.

  • God's Alive, Rock Thrives

    5 out of 5 stars
    SYODQV78681724 November 2025United States🇺🇸

Is God really Dead? ... Not a chance! He's very much alive, and it's thanks to him! While the tracks have a modern production, they haven't been ruined by over-processing. There's plenty of compression, but it hasn't smothered the dynamics or energy. Besides the powerful, big drums, there's ample room for Ossborne's vocals. The sound isn't overly polished, but it's full, rich, and packed with depth ... and the music is fantastic! Hard rock, with extended riffs, strong beats, and Ozzy's melodic singing.

  • Modern Sabbath Revival

    5 out of 5 stars
    CsBok28 October 2025United States🇺🇸

Alright, there's a lot to cover in this review, so let's dive in. First things first, the production quality is fantastic, but it's important to note that Bill Ward didn't drum on this album—it's Ozzy, Tony, and Geezer. Now, having said that, this album reminds me a lot of Metallica's "Death Magnetic" because it takes bits and pieces of the classic Black Sabbath sound and updates them for today's music scene. For instance, "End of the Beginning" has that classic Sabbath vibe, and "Zeitgeist" brings to mind "Planet Caravan," even with the vocal effects and bongos. You get the picture. The album is solid, but don't expect any groundbreaking, innovative ideas. The band decided this would be their last album, and their goal was to create something relevant, like their older, really good albums. To do that, they had to revisit those old ideas and give them a modern twist. All that being said, I genuinely enjoy this album, and I also really liked "The Devil You Know" by Heaven & Hell, Dio's last album with Tony and Geezer. In my opinion, any fan of the Ozzy era and the newer tracks from the reunion will appreciate this album. So, if you're looking for a vinyl copy, go ahead and grab one!

  • Czech Record: Great Sound, Minor Flaws

    3 out of 5 stars
    XUKKEJJWIB16 October 2025United States🇺🇸

Even though this record was produced in the Czech Republic, the sound quality is fantastic! The bass, the treble, all of it is perfectly balanced. I'm really enjoying it. However, there's noticeable crackling during quiet parts, and a few clicks here and there.

  • Rubin Holds Back Great Tunes

    3 out of 5 stars
    Johixuxceg07 October 2025United States🇺🇸

The tunes are fantastic. I'm impressed by the band's drive to innovate and craft fresh sounds. If they'd picked a producer other than Rubin, you might've seen a higher rating from me.
