  • Zero the Hero Live Impact

    5 out of 5 stars
    MamLelsdess30 December 2025United States🇺🇸

The Reading 83 recording was a tad underwhelming when it comes to audio quality, it's quite hollow for a BBC recording, it's a bit more tolerable with headphones. Perhaps it sounded better live with all that broadcast compression and EQ. Still, it's decent enough to grasp how incredibly heavy Zero the Hero was live. It's fantastic to have the full-length version of Stonehenge on CD, a true dark ambient treasure. The Fallen maintains the heavy, abrasive standard of the album. It's a shame they didn't stick with this heavy, dark, noisy, cutting-edge sound even without Gillan.

  • Reading 83's Intense Live Sound

The Reading 83 recording left something to be desired in the sound department, it's quite hollow for a BBC recording, it's a tad better with headphones. Perhaps it sounded more impressive live with all that broadcast compression and EQ. Still, it's decent enough to appreciate how incredibly intense zero the hero was live. It's fantastic to finally have the full length version of Stonehenge on CD, a true dark ambient treasure. The Fallen maintains the heavy, abrasive standard of the album. • Sabbath's Disappointing Album

    2 out of 5 stars
    bwifcmibh24 November 2025United Kingdom🇬🇧

In my opinion, this is Black Sabbath's most disappointing album. You might wonder, with a vocalist from a band like Deep Purple and such a lineup, how could it be that bad? Let me tell you, it's terrible. The only track that's any good is 'Zero the Hero'. Aside from that, every other song is incredibly dull. The album is packed with filler tracks. Except for 'Zero the Hero', it doesn't even sound like Sabbath. Overall, this is a really poor release from an otherwise amazing band.

  • Bill Ward's Shining Finale

    4 out of 5 stars
    remkay8931 October 2025United States🇺🇸

Let me tell you, if you think this is Black Sabbath's worst album, just listen to 'Forbidden'! It's their final studio album with Bill Ward, and he truly shines here. It's a real shame about the subpar production because there are some fantastic tracks. The band is incredibly tight and even adventurous at times. As for the Ian Gillan debate, it's all subjective, but I personally believe he delivers an amazing vocal performance on this record. I've rated it four stars for Tony's killer riffs, Geezer's fiery playing, and the fact that it features Bill Ward!

  • Album Lacks Punch

    4 out of 5 stars
    ZolQabsixofu18 October 2025United States🇺🇸

What an incredible album! The main artist sounds “alright”. However, it seems like the mixing or the recording, or perhaps both, are a bit odd. There's no punch to the sound. The drums come across as feeble. The snare has way too much reverb. Despite it being a historic piece and I'm glad to own it, this is how that not-so-pretty baby came to be, I guess.
