Product Description

Black Sabbath's "Master of Reality" is a seminal work that solidified the band's status as pioneers of heavy metal. Released on July 21, 1971, through Sanctuary Records, this album is a cornerstone of the genre, blending raw power with haunting melodies. Clocking in at just over 34 minutes, "Master of Reality" is a concise yet powerful journey through the depths of heavy metal, stoner rock, and doom metal.

The album features iconic tracks like "Sweet Leaf," a song that captures the essence of the era with its slow, heavy riffs and haunting vocals. "Children of the Grave" is another standout, showcasing the band's ability to craft anthems that resonate with fans. "Paranoid," while not on this album, is a testament to the band's influence, and "Master of Reality" continues that legacy with its dark, introspective themes and crushing sound.

The 2009 remaster of the album brings new clarity to the original recordings, allowing listeners to appreciate the intricate guitar work of Tony Iommi and the powerful vocals of Ozzy Osbourne. The album's themes of darkness, despair, and introspection are as relevant today as they were in 1971, making "Master of Reality" a timeless classic.

For fans of Black Sabbath and heavy metal in general, "Master of Reality" is an essential listen. The album's influence can be heard in countless bands that followed, and its impact on the genre is undeniable. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to Black Sabbath's music, "Master of Reality" is an album that demands to be heard.

This is a 1976 Repress released as a LP.

  • Italian Version Impressive

    5 out of 5 stars

I simply must say, my 03 Italian version sounds just as crisp, and equally powerful. You'd barely notice the difference! Both earn ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ in my book

  • Gorgeous Sabbath Original Edition

    5 out of 5 stars
    xjednud17 November 2025United States🇺🇸

Among the most gorgeous Sabbath albums ever, with a fantastic texture, it's an incredible original 1st edition that sounds just as amazing. A meticulously made, truly luxurious, and one-of-a-kind release.

  • Geezer Shines in Remaster

    5 out of 5 stars
    huimpijsiokc15 November 2025United States🇺🇸

Fantastic Copy. No noise issues here. You can notice it's a remaster but they did a pretty good job. Geezer's the standout on this album.

  • Green Label Gem

    5 out of 5 stars
    ruxxlate12 November 2025United States🇺🇸

I've been steering clear of those basic 180 gram green sticker reissues for a bit, but this one's a real winner! The audio quality's solid, right up there with my VG+ green label copy. Still, I reckon a UK, Japanese, or German pressing might outdo the US 'Greenie'. I just upgraded my 'Paranoid' and self-titled albums, and they're both phenomenal on the green label. But 'Master Of Reality' doesn't quite hit the same high notes, if you catch my drift. That said, for the price and the bonus tracks, it's a STEAL!

  • UK Pressing Still Preferred

    5 out of 5 stars
    Mxixp_Duob_Xigirbx11 November 2025United States🇺🇸

In comparison to my initial UK pressing, this one sounds decent and punchy, but it's a bit short on high frequencies. It's not a big deal, but I still lean towards the UK pressing.
