Fantastic album and among my top picks from Blue Note. Certainly a standout moment in 50s jazz, as it doesn't have that overly dated, happy, swingin' vibe that many pre-Kind of Blue records have. Plus, it's quite a historical album, with its original pressing being a very valuable record.
Absolutely delighted I chose this. Stunning, mirror-like vinyl, perfectly flat and silent. The jacket's quality is also top-notch.
This is hands-down the top reissue of this timeless piece. Bernie Grundman handled the mastering, using the original mono master tapes (no fold down involved).
Awesome album!! Never came across a disappointing Hank Mobley track, and Bill Hardman truly stands out here. Honestly, every Hank Mobley record is a must-have for me :)
Excellent pressing here, no dropouts at all. It might not be a must-have Mobley album, but it's still top-notch hard bop. AND GET THIS, IT'S STILL BEING PRESSED. DON'T FALL FOR THOSE JERK'S TRICKS SAYING IT'S OUT OF PRINT AND CHARGING TWICE AS MUCH.
