Picked this up at Barnes & Noble yesterday. They had several copies available, though not all were in perfect shape (some had slightly bent corners). I managed to find a nice one. The pressing is solid, and the sound quality is great.
Can someone tell me what the limited edition count is for this issue?
Fantastic album, superb pressing. It's tough to find fault, as this is the quality I've grown accustomed to with these Legacy/EH releases. They're consistently top-notch and absolutely worth the cost. This version sounds incredible, with hardly any surface noise to speak of.
It seems like you can only snag this one at Barnes and Noble or the Hendrix site. I checked out a couple local record stores, and they said they didn't receive any copies on purple vinyl.
Still not convinced that Prince and the Red Hot Chili Peppers drew inspiration from Hendrix? Give 'Jungle' a listen, it's on Disc 1, track 3. That should put an end to any uncertainty. Taped: Record Plant, New York, November 14, 1969.
