Four plus for this album. I enjoy his music. It's not often you find bands with three decades under their belt and fifteen albums out, still having this much to express. Great packaging and audio quality too.
In my view, not their finest album but hey... ----> 100% top-notch vinyl sound and packaging
This is an amazing pressing of this often overlooked album! I saw Iron Maiden live during the tour for this album, so it's quite sentimental for me. The record is heavy, flat, and sounds fantastic. It's definitely a strong album with a top-notch pressing.
The Final Frontier" has just a couple of drawbacks. Firstly, Bruce Dickinson's voice is showing its age. Don't get me wrong, he's still fantastic, but when compared to his prime, it's clear his vocals have lost some of their edge. He's still got the power, but those high notes seem to be a bit of a struggle for him now. It's only natural, but it's a bit of a shame. Secondly, the timing of the release. In 2010, this album is received differently than it would have been in the mid-80s. I'm convinced that if this album had dropped during the "Golden Age" with young Bruce on vocals, it would've been one of Maiden's most celebrated and groundbreaking works.
Absolutely love the sound of this album. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone! The cover art is stunning and the inner sleeves are top-notch. Iron Maiden has really outdone themselves with this one!
