I'm having trouble identifying which version of the album I own, here's the Matrix/Runout details from my records.Side A - SABB-1-12441 f-2 #1 MASTERED BY CAPITOL Wally - Side A is a match, but the rest aren't.Side B - SABB-2-12441 f-3 #1 MASTERED BY CAPITOL WallySide C - SABB-3-12441 f-3 #2 MASTERED BY CAPITOL WallySide D - SABB-4-12441 f-3 #1 MASTERED BY CAPITOL WallyThe Matrix/Runout details don't match up, SABB 12441 is printed on the cover, the spine, the inserts, and the record labels.
The packaging is absolutely flawless. I'm blown away by the tour program and the bonus booklet, but the sound could use a bit more bass. Honestly, the original version still sounds better.
I'm a huge fan of live albums & this one is definitely up there with my top picks. The tracks don't differ much from the studio cuts except for most being played at a quicker speed & obviously Bruce handling the D'Anno songs.
In my opinion, this is among the greatest live rock albums ever released on 2LP, and the EU/German version's audio quality is fantastic.
Fantastic record pressing! Mastered by Chris Bellman (CB etched in the deadwax). It's incredibly dynamic with superb resolution, every instrument is perfectly placed. Bruce's vocals are outstanding, and the background vocals are truly lovely. The drums sound amazing with a really nice cymbal tone, not too bright or harsh. Steve's bass is pretty good too, maybe a tad more low end would've been nice, but it's very clear. Which I prefer for his playing since he's so fast, it never gets muddy. I caught this tour in New Orleans in '85 at Lakefront Arena. I've got the concert on VHS, used to watch it all the time, still have it. This is Iron Maiden at their peak after dropping five revolutionary studio albums. What an incredible career!! Up the Friggin Irons Forever!
