After checking out a bunch of reviews and only knowing the Beach Boys' music a bit, I decided to give this album a shot. I'd heard it was supposed to be great, so I thought, 'might as well grab one of the best pressings out there.' Wow, it was incredible! My setup isn't anything special, but the sound quality was way better than anything else I own. I always recommend this pressing to others (and I do it a lot).
This is an amazing record pressing. There's already been a lot said about this edition. If you're unsure, just get it. It's truly outstanding.
Haven't had a chance to listen to the AP mono, but this one is absolutely amazing.
Disagree with that other review, so here's my take. It's a great reissue. Mine is really quiet, sound is good. Bass is deep. Giving 4 stars 'cause it's a bit bright in the mid range. I've got other versions, first press and an RSD, but both stereo, so no mono to compare to. Got this 'cause I wanted to hear the mono mix as intended. Pretty happy with it.
Despite being fake stereo, this actually sounds fantastic. Powerful and crisp, with a seriously deep bass. I used to think Duophonic would be the absolute worst, but it turns out it's not that bad.
