Product description

In the summer of 2025, Lou Reed invites you to step back in time to a electrifying night in Denver, 1989, with the release of "Look Out The Window (Live Denver '89)". This live album captures Reed at the peak of his prowess, blending his signature glam rock and proto-punk styles into a raw, energetic performance that's as relevant today as it was over three decades ago.

Spanning a tight 70 minutes, the album is a testament to Reed's enduring influence on rock music. It opens with a gritty rendition of "Dirty Blvd." and takes you on a journey through some of his most iconic tracks, including "Sweet Jane" and "Walk On The Wild Side". The setlist also features deep cuts and fan favorites, showcasing Reed's knack for weaving tales of urban life and personal introspection into his music.

The album's production is crisp and immersive, placing you right in the heart of the venue, feeling the electricity of the crowd and the power of Reed's performance. His distinctive voice, both vulnerable and commanding, guides you through each track, while his guitar work shines, especially on tracks like "Rock 'N' Roll" and "Video Violence".

"Look Out The Window (Live Denver '89)" is not just a live album; it's a document of a moment in time, a snapshot of Lou Reed's artistry and his ability to connect with audiences. It's a reminder of why he remains a towering figure in rock music, pushing boundaries and challenging norms. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to his work, this album offers a compelling introduction to Reed's live performances and his enduring legacy.

About Lou Reed

Lou Reed, born Lewis Allan Reed, was an iconic American singer-songwriter, musician, and actor, best known as the frontman of the influential rock band The Velvet Underground. With his distinctive deadpan voice, provocative lyrics, and innovative guitar playing, Reed left an indelible mark on the music world. Formed in 1965, The Velvet Underground, under Reed's guidance, produced four groundbreaking albums that, though not commercially successful at the time, have since been hailed as enormously influential. The band's association with Andy Warhol's Factory scene further cemented their status as pioneers of underground and alternative rock. Beyond The Velvet Underground, Reed's solo career spanned five decades, encompassing a diverse range of styles from glam rock to proto-punk. His solo work, including hits like "Walk on the Wild Side" and "Perfect Day," showcased his versatility and enduring impact on modern music. Reed's legacy as one of rock's most important singer-songwriters is undeniable, with a body of work that stands alongside legends like Dylan and Lennon-McCartney.
