Product description

Released in September 1975, "Landed" is the sixth studio album by the pioneering German band CAN, marking a slight shift in their signature sound. Known for their innovative approach to music, CAN blends krautrock, space rock, and progressive rock elements with experimental and psychedelic undertones, creating a unique and captivating sonic experience. "Landed" is no exception, offering a compelling mix of rock 'n' roll sensibilities and their characteristic experimental streak.

The album opens with "Full Moon on the Highway," setting the tone for the journey ahead. Tracks like "Half Past One" and "Hunters and Collectors" showcase CAN's ability to craft intricate, rhythmic soundscapes that are both hypnotic and engaging. "Vernal Equinox" and "Unfinished" delve into more atmospheric and experimental territories, highlighting the band's versatility and creativity.

"Landed" is often praised for its superb musicianship and sound collage experiments, making it a standout in CAN's discography. The lyrics, which often revolve around mysterious and enigmatic themes, add an extra layer of intrigue to the listening experience. With a runtime of just over 40 minutes, the album is a concise yet powerful exploration of CAN's mid-70s sound.

Critics and fans alike have lauded "Landed" for its accessibility and listenability, making it a favorite among those new to CAN's music. While it may not be as experimental as some of their earlier works, "Landed" is a testament to CAN's ability to evolve and adapt while staying true to their innovative roots. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer to their music, "Landed" offers a rich and rewarding listening experience that showcases the best of CAN's mid-70s glory.

This is a 2014 Reissue Remastered released as a LP.

  • CAN's Approachable 70's Gem

    5 out of 5 stars
    luluvnowtwinmiDecember 23, 2024United States🇺🇸

Absolutely overlooked gem in CAN's discography! "Landed" stands out as the most approachable of their 70's studio works, showcasing the band in their prime mid-70's form. It's still packed with avant-garde experimentation but offers a friendlier entry point for those drawn to the quirkier side of 70's underground rock. Essential listening for Krautrock enthusiasts and a must-hear for any CAN fanatic out there!!!

  • Can's Best Work

This is a fantastic pressing. The sound is warm, rich, and incredibly detailed. I genuinely believe this might be one of Can’s best works. The songs have a more traditional structure but still keep some experimental touches. It comes with a printed inner sleeve. The cover on mine is of standard thickness—not flimsy or cheap at all. It's a great record. I'd definitely recommend it.

CAN's "Landed" is criminally overlooked in their discography. It's the most approachable of their 70's studio works, showcasing the band in their prime mid-70's form. Still pushing boundaries with avant-garde and experimental sounds, it's far more welcoming to those who enjoy the quirkier side of 70's underground rock. Essential listening for Krautrock enthusiasts and a record that any CAN fan ought to have in their collection!!!
