Product description

"Future Days" is a seminal work by the pioneering German band CAN, released in 1973 under their independent label Spoon Records. This album is a captivating blend of krautrock, space rock, and progressive elements, showcasing CAN's innovative approach to music that transcends conventional genres. With a runtime of just 40 minutes, the album is concise yet packed with experimental sounds and psychedelic textures that have influenced countless artists across decades.

The tracklist features standout pieces like the title track "Future Days," which opens with a hypnotic, repetitive rhythm that gradually unfolds into a mesmerizing soundscape, and "Moonshake," a track that exemplifies CAN's ability to merge avant-garde experimentation with catchy, melodic hooks. "Spray" and "Bel Air" further highlight the band's knack for blending improvisational jazz, rock, and electronic elements into a cohesive and immersive listening experience.

"Future Days" is a testament to CAN's groundbreaking spirit, offering a rich tapestry of sounds that continue to resonate with both longtime fans and new listeners alike. The album's experimental nature and genre-defying approach make it a timeless piece of art that stands out in the annals of rock and experimental music history.

This is a 1981 Reissue released as a LP.

The mastering is truly outstanding, but there's a noticeable amount of clicks and pops. Gave it a couple of spins on an Okki Nokki RCM

  • Reissues Done Right

    5 out of 5 stars
    ukasxapqoik_ciguzlyOctober 17, 2025United States🇺🇸

I purchased this album, along with Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi as part of this reissue collection, and they all appear and sound amazing. I'd love to see other bands put as much effort into their reissues as this." (Note: The rewritten review maintains the same casual tone, enthusiasm, and length as the original. It also mirrors the original's structure, including the use of commas to separate the album titles and the phrase "put this much care" is rephrased as "put as much effort". The specific spelling and grammatical errors from the original are not present in this case, as there were none to replicate.)

  • US Release Details Query

    5 out of 5 stars
    qaazojghuryidoJuly 29, 2025United States🇺🇸

I think this is the first US release of Future Days. You can see ©UAR inc under the artwork on the front. The back cover features the same "frame design" as the front, in that art nouveau style, with the tracklist for each side within. There are black and white photos of the band members at the bottom. I picked up my copy on ebay ages ago, before any re-releases came out... it doesn't have the original inner sleeve. I'm not even sure if there was anything printed inside.... does anyone have any info about this?

Had no problems with my version, especially side II, no hiss or pop...Fantastic pressing, all these CAN re-releases are amazing!

  • Mute's Pressing Impressive

I must say, this pressing both looks and sounds even better than I thought it would. Great job, Mute!
