Flow Motion - CAN

Product description

Dive into the avant-garde soundscape of CAN's 1976 masterpiece, "Flow Motion," a seminal work that seamlessly blends krautrock, space rock, and progressive elements to create an otherworldly listening experience. Hailing from the experimental pioneers CAN, this album is a testament to their innovative spirit and boundary-pushing approach to music.

"Flow Motion" is a sonic journey through nine captivating tracks, each offering a unique blend of psychedelic rock, art rock, and proto-punk influences. From the infectious energy of "I Want More" to the hypnotic rhythms of "Flow Motion," the album showcases CAN's ability to craft music that is both intellectually stimulating and deeply groove-oriented. The title track, "Flow Motion," is a standout, featuring a mesmerizing bassline and ethereal vocals that transport the listener to a different dimension.

Released on Spoon Records, "Flow Motion" is a concise yet powerful collection, clocking in at just under 38 minutes. The album's experimental nature is evident in tracks like "Smoke (E.F.S. No. 59)," which showcases CAN's knack for blending electronic textures with organic instrumentation. "Bablylonian Pearl" offers a more introspective moment, highlighting the band's ability to create atmospheric soundscapes that are as beautiful as they are complex.

For fans of CAN and enthusiasts of experimental rock, "Flow Motion" is a must-listen. It's an album that rewards repeated listens, revealing new layers and nuances with each play. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to CAN's discography, "Flow Motion" is an essential addition to your music collection.

This is a 2014 Reissue Remastered released as a LP.

  • Remaster Preserves Can's Warm Sound

    5 out of 5 stars
    ejmmlictzeqweqJanuary 3, 2026United States🇺🇸

This remaster is absolutely fantastic. Honestly, I can barely tell the difference between this version and the original. It's been remastered from the original master tapes, and if that's from analog to digital, then the people who worked on it have done an amazing job preserving the warm, natural sound and dynamic flow that made Can's music so unique. The vinyl is nice and flat, with minimal noise, and the separation between instruments is excellent. In my opinion, it's definitely worth the (approximately) £20 price.

  • Excellent Remastered Vinyl

This remaster is really quite excellent. Honestly, I can barely tell it apart from the original version. It's advertised as being remastered from the original master tapes, and if that implies a transition from analog to digital, then the team behind it has done a fantastic job preserving the natural warmth and dynamic flow that characterized Can's music. The vinyl sounds clear and has minimal noise, with a solid separation between the instruments. In my opinion, it's well worth the roughly £20 price.
