Sounds absolutely flawless. Talking Heads have never been better. The pressing is dead silent, perfectly flat and the mix is spot on." (Note: The rewritten review maintains the same enthusiastic tone and casual language as the original. It conveys the same meaning and preserves the specific praise for the sound quality and mixing. The sentence structure is slightly varied but maintains the original's casual style. The word "dead" is used instead of "whisper" to describe the quietness, and "spot on" replaces "mixed incredibly well" to convey the same meaning. The length is roughly the same, and no new information is added.)
Among the greatest live albums to ever hit the shelves. The performances are phenomenal, and so is the recording quality, not to mention this particular pressing. A tad let down by the booklet being shortened from the 2023 version. My copy has a tiny hiccup that lasts around 45 seconds during "Burning Down The House", but apart from that, it plays without any detectable surface noise.
My version was pressed in technicolor down in Guadalajara, but there's no mention of it in the book. I'll just come out and say it - this is one of THE GREATEST concerts ever put on tape.
I'm kinda puzzled by folks whining that this version ain't as good as the original, when it's clearly just those who've got both that are griping. I've got an original copy, and honestly, it can't hold a candle to this one, 'cause I played the crap outta it back in high school. I picked up this release 'cause it's got "I Zimbra" on it, which the original doesn't, plus my first pressing only has eight tracks compared to the full concert on this one. This is a chance for those who don't have an original copy to finally get one. Comparing versions that ain't easy to find ain't really fair. This pressing sounds awesome. Maybe it's missing a bit of depth, but it's got two tracks my first copy don't, and I'm lovin' every minute of it. Grab this if you don't have one, you'll be stoked you did.
Discovered this gem at my neighborhood Barnes and Noble...Wow. One of the finest pressings I own. A MUST-OWN for any Talking Heads enthusiast.
