Incredible, truly. What a phenomenal sound. Among the finest vinyl pressings I've ever encountered. Up until now, I'd given up on finding a vinyl with such clarity. Each time, those subpar pressings with clicks, pops, and all that nonsense. Why aren't all vinyls this good? And then there's this crisp, analytic sound of Yello... amazing... simply amazing. Maybe not the absolute best Yello album... maybe... but after two listens, definitely one of the very best (it's a matter of taste). Yes, absolutely worth it (a matter of taste, did I mention that? ;-)) A piece for testing your equipment, but not just for that!
Ohmy-ohmy-ohmy... This is a Powerful and Expertly Recorded Album... Strongly Advised
I grabbed this album from a nearby media shop, mainly because I'm a fan of Yello, but I didn't do my usual research before buying it (which I normally do when purchasing vinyl). I was blown away when I gave it a listen! I've bought plenty of new records from artists I love, but this one is truly top-notch, possibly one of my best purchases yet. There's not a single pop or hiss to be heard (which, sadly, isn't always the case with new vinyls), and the sound is incredibly clean and spacious. This is definitely going to be a classic for any future audiophile. It's so rare to find such a high-quality pressing from such a brilliant artist in new records.
I'm pleased to share that the audio quality is rich and uncompromised, as verified with a spectrograph. It's unfortunate that many Russian and Chinese bootleg pressings only offer subpar, compressed audio, but this release is an exception! The reason there's no official 15-track CD available anymore is just another example of Universal's typical haughtiness. The limited edition box set, which included the complete album, sold out in just a few weeks, leaving fans with no affordable options unless they're willing to pay a premium or resort to an unofficial CD or download. While it certainly doesn't rank among the first six classic and timeless albums, it has its highlights and is a commendable effort. So, why settle for the shortened official version when you can have the genuine article?
What a performance! The sounds bubble, chirp and tweet from every corner, whizz through the room, completely independent of the speakers, as if the laws of physics were suspended, with incredible clarity and transparency. The bass rumbles a few times so threateningly that you worry about the neighbours' china. Reference class, absolutely recommended.
