This remastered edition didn't quite hit the mark for me. There's a slight digital harshness in the high frequencies, reminiscent of the earlier Yugoslav pressing I owned. I had hoped for more from this re-release. However, the vinyl pressing is excellent and quiet, and overall, it's far superior to the CD version.
Top-notch pressing. Sound is deep, rich, and crystal clear. The recording is incredibly good. Absolutely love it.
This album is fantastic, and the pressing sounds like a top-notch Japanese one. The details, depth, and clarity are just crystal clear. It's an absolute joy to spin this record.
In this era of so-called "innovations" like slapping a kick drum onto an '80s classic such as "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" by Hall and Oates or stitching together a bunch of sounds and calling yourself a "producer", one might question how inventive an '80s band could really be - but let me tell you, folks, Yello is leagues ahead of any of today's "pretenducers"! I might sound like a broken record, but facts are facts - true innovation is as good as gone in today's electronic music scene. Sure, there might be a few decently produced tracks every now and then, but none can hold a candle to the sheer creativity Yello was bringing to the table in the 1980s. You've got to give this album a spin if you want to hear sounds (and/or "songs") that are as fresh today as they were back in 1987! These tracks could easily pass for brand new releases. This album is timeless in so many ways, and Yello's musicianship never goes out of fashion. It's a solid fifty out of ten, and that's me being modest. Did I mention the variety? They explore styles ranging from light and breezy to heavy and intense, and they nail it every time. If you're after something larger than life, completely timeless, and well, perfect(?) - give this album a listen! It's one of the greatest of all time for so many reasons. Do check it out!
This album is truly a timeless gem! Yello's expansive, stunning pop tunes exude a sultry Latin vibe. Starting with the pulsating and rhythmic 'La Habanera' and ending with the eerily captivating 'The Rhythm Divine', not to mention the loud, gritty, and intriguingly named 'Si Senor The Hairy Grill', each track is a pure joy.
