Side A is simply phenomenal, Side B is pretty good too but it never quite won me over. The pressing is flawless and quiet, and the sound quality is top-notch.
An absolute musical triumph. While Tubular Bells became iconic for being the 'first' ... this one earned legendary status because the music is simply out of this world. Among the very top tracks Mike ever put out, possibly even THE top ... This 1976 pressing sounds fantastic too, which I'm incredibly lucky and thankful for (I snagged it for just three bucks!).
Side A is pretty standard, but wow, side B is absolutely incredible. Don't miss out on this without giving side B a listen!
This is an absolute work of art. I truly believe its Mike Oldfield's finest creation. Its a must-listen for anyone who enjoys instumental music. Ommadawn is my all-time favorite record in my collection.
Many folks consider Ommadawn to be Mike Oldfield's top album, and it's no surprise - it's incredibly enjoyable and easy on the ears, boasting a truly gratifying crescendo on Side 1 and an awesome track called On Horseback on Side 2. The vinyl version is way better than the CD, which was quite murky and lacked punch.
