The multi-channel SACD layer on this is truly impressive. The seperation is fantastic.
Back in the 80s, folks used to insist that colored vinyl records sounded much worse than black ones. But let me tell you, that's not true at all with this particular pressing - the audio quality is absolutely phenomenal.
I'm really let down by this purchase. The music itself isn't bad, but the record is filled with pops and crackles throughout. You can really hear the surface noise, especially in "Behind the Wheel" on the right channel [check out some other reviews below]. I chose to keep this copy instead of taking it back to the store, just to show everyone how a brand new "deluxe" edition can be of such poor quality. Warner-Sire-Mute-Reprise-Rhino records should be ashamed.
While the tracks on the prior album pack a bit more punch, MFTM remains a solid album. The 5.1 on SACD and DTS 96/24 on DVD audio both sound incredable. Definitely worth picking up.
