  • Simon's Classic Sound Missed

    3 out of 5 stars
    wolyirobDecember 22, 2025United Kingdom🇬🇧

This isn't Paul Simon's best album in my book. While I appreciate his global musical inspirations in principle, I'm more of a fan of his classic sound.

  • Disappointing Pressing, Good Tunes

    2 out of 5 stars
    pukgeqqh836October 30, 2025United States🇺🇸

The tunes are quite engaging and not terrible! However, the pressing is a complete disaster. There's a ton of surface noise. I tried cleaning it with ultrasonic, but nothing changed. Two stars for the music alone, the pressing isn't even worth one.

  • Vinyl Gem by Simon

    5 out of 5 stars
    Guoq134August 31, 2025United States🇺🇸

Hilarious. Came out right at the end of the vinyl days, when CDs were all the rage. Not one of those 180 gram, super-duper, half-speed mastering, contemporary marketing nonsense albums. Yet, it's a fantastic example of how a vinyl record should sound. By the way, it might just be my top Paul Simon album.

  • Vocal-Centric 1990 DMM Gem

    4 out of 5 stars
    HimT_TemoAugust 10, 2025United States🇺🇸

I just got my hands on a 1990 DMM copy, and I must say, I prefer this one because the vocals are more prominent and upfront compared to the 1990 version, which also sounds great, don't get me wrong, but the vocals are a bit more subdued and tucked in the background. The 1990 version has a warmer overall sound. It really comes down to personal preference. I think the 1990 version is still fairly priced, but if you're just looking to add a version to your collection, either one is a solid choice. This one doesn't sound compressed or digital to me. The main plus is the vocals being more front and center. The music also sounds fantastic on my setup. I'll mention that my copy isn't noisy at all. Very quiet. Flat, centered. But at the end of the day, proof is what matters for everyone. I'll add one more thing because as much as I try to be objective about the sound quality and pressing when I review, I'll admit I'm a huge PS fan from "S&G Wednesday Morning 3 AM" to "Bridge Over Troubled Water" through all of his solo stuff including "Graceland," this is my favorite PS composition/music, lyrics, and delivery of all his work. Up there with "Emily," "Wherever I May Find Her," "Sparrow," "Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall," etc. Collectively, this is all of those but more mature. Grown up. Better writing. As one complete offering. My favorite. And "Parsley Sage Rosemary and Thyme" is pretty damn solid. As is "Bookends" and...

  • Wide Soundstage Reissue Triumph

    5 out of 5 stars
    Tolxqotek6596July 14, 2025United States🇺🇸

Nothing to complain about, this reissue is fantastic. The soundstage is incredibly wide. Definitely not flat like someone else mentioned.
