When I purchased mine in '90, there wasn't a complimentary 7" included.
Amazing album, though the initial pressings with the 7-inch had a off-center pressing causing a lot of wow and flutter. I bought mine back then directly from Our Price without listening first and just got accustomed to the distinctive atmosphere, now when I listen to the tracks without it, it feels like something's amiss.
Received a flawless copy, no surface imperfections, perfectly flat, stunning. I'd forgotten how much I adore this album.
Nick Cave's most tender and redeeming album at that stage in his career. Moving away from the anguished turmoil of Tender Prey, The Good Son offers a sense of spiritual depth, sorrow, and almost tranquil loveliness. "The Ship Song" and "The Weeping Song" serve as emotional cornerstones β controlled yet impactful, intricately composed but never excessive.This original EU limited edition is something special. The vinyl sounds full and dynamic β Caveβs vocals are prominent and expressive, while the music flows gracefully throughout. Soft, clear playback β outstanding pressing for a 1990 original.And the accompanying 7" bonus single is a genuine gem: acoustic renditions of tracks from Tender Prey. Unpolished, personal, stripped back to their emotional essence. Itβs like gazing into a mirror reflecting the past β same songs, but with all the clamor and fury stripped away. A brilliant enhancement to a pivotal record. Scarce, and definitely worth possessing.
I'm not sure what others are talking about, my one is completely flat and quiet and sounds amazing!
