This album could seriously benefit from a deep ultrasonic clean, maybe even two times! The mastering, production, and mix are absolutely top-notch. Cave truly shines on this one.
Gorgeous pressing. Absolutely no surface noise, spotless pressing with vibrant sound. It's leagues better than the digital version when it comes to listening pleasure and sound quality.
The pressing is above par, the vinyl is flat, and it plays with a minor, occasional hiss/crackle that's only noticeable when you're really listening hard and there's no distortion (I reckon I've only cleaned it once, I'll give it another go). The audio is superb, with a great sense of space, and the vocals and instruments are detailed and clear, making it a joy to listen to. The artwork is top-notch and visually appealing. I own the original CD, and I'm thrilled with the vinyl version—it's an album I keep coming back to. I'd definitely recommend it. Funny how it's only supposed to be 100 copies, but 124 folks have it.
I decided to give this a wipe down before playing, considering all the past feedback. But, much to my surprise, my copy was nearly spotless right out of the packaging, with clear dynamics and no muffling throughout. I must've gotten lucky with this one!
