  Fantastic box set that's been a long time coming. I reckon the last couple Sammy Van Halen albums never got the vinyl mastering they deserved until this release. Back then, they were more focused on the CD. But now it's been fixed, and these albums sound amazing on vinyl!

• Disappointing Sound Quality, Returning Set

  The sound quality of 5150 and OU812 is disappointing, quite flat and weak. My Japanese imports and original copies are far superior. The For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge disc in my set has scratches on side A, so I'm returning it. Plus, Right Now has noticeable distortion, whereas my original pressing is much clearer. The balance is decent, though. The ‘Studio Extras’ disc sounds alright. No seam splits here, and all discs were flat, but For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge was a bit off-center. Overall, it's not a great set.

  These records are spot on. Nothing to gripe about. I've got the original American pressings of 5150 and OU812 too. The originals are slightly better, as you'd imagine. I've gotta turn these reissues up to feel the bass. Still, they're well pressed. FUCK and Balance are unmatched, so they earn A+’s. The rarities album is the icing on the cake! Awesome! It's great to finally have the Sammy Hagar era on vinyl.

  Great set, the audio is solid I'll have to compare them to my original copies but for a hundred bucks to own this set, along with the 78-84, it's pretty cool.
