I finally found the records I've been searching for! Ron Tutt and the 2001 drums are fantastic. It's classic Elvis with a big band, but not from too far into his career. The energy from the band and the audience is electric. The shows are long and well-paced, with the backup singers perfectly balanced. The re-mastering quality is superb, and the packaging is excellent with a substantial book included. 5 Stars!
I recently acquired this NM vinyl Japan pressing, and it's incredibly quiet with a very clear sound throughout. Elvis' vocals truly shine, as they ought to, while the backing singers, guitars, drums, and horns blend perfectly. It's an amazing and intimate live performance, a must-have for any fan of Elvis' concert albums.
Among the top, if not the absolute best, of Elvis' live recordings from the 1970's, featuring a splendid wide stereo-mix. However, it's the relaxed, fun atmosphere that truly makes this album stand out. And you simply must hear the bass-vocals by JD Sumner to believe them. Plus, the vinyl is incredibly quiet too...
