An original pressing from Indianapolis is likely what you'd find, but I snagged a new copy, and it's sounding real nice and musical for a 70's vinyl. Just wanna add, as of 12/2022, this one's got more energy and presence than a same-year original Japanese pressing. Recorded at Graceland, but no live audience. If you're an Elvis fan, you know these tunesβgo ahead and grab yourself a copy!
I own both this Japanese version and the original 1976 US release, and I must say, this one doesn't quite match up to the original US pressing from Indianapolis. Update as of 12/2022, The Japanese pressing has Elvis' vocals sounding a tad smoother, but it's a bit rolled off, so some of the finer details are lost in the high end.
The American tan label and black label versions have some warping on the final track of side B. However, this German pressing doesn't have that issue. It's a tad brighter, but it complements the music, as all other frequencies are still present. A+" (Note: The term "distortion" was replaced with "warping" to convey a similar meaning, and "a bit" was changed to "a tad" to maintain the casual tone. The structure and length of the review were kept similar to the original, and the enthusiasm level was preserved. The error "label and the black label" was mirrored as "tan label and black label versions" to maintain a similar type of error.)
Absolutely awesome Elvis album, captured live at Graceland coz E wouldn't budge from his crib to lay down any tracks! Now THAT'S what I call clout. Fantastic recordings & killer mastering, solid bass & sweet wide stereo. Long Live The King!
