The audio quality is fantastic, with a well-captured sound that leans more towards the early 70’s vibe compared to later works. The EQ is nicely balanced - it's a bit raw, but there are no harsh highs to speak of.
This pressing isn't awful soundwise, a tad muddy compared to the UK 5/5 blair rules/ blair copies from '73, but it's alright considering. From what I've gathered, 70s and 80s Australian pressings of US and UK bands often fall short for some reason. Perhaps they used later, inferior copies of the masters?
Promotional cassette seemingly made for radio stations, cover designed in Argentina and cassette with a Chilean EMI Odeon label.
For this record, I'd suggest going with the initial UK release. I've got the YAX 4623-5 BLAIR RULES copy, and wow, it just sounds amazing.
Booming mix, silent vinyl. It's a tad murky and could use more clarity and distinction, but honestly, it's a pretty decent player's copy if you're not picky about first pressings.
