Product description

Released on 8 November 1974, Queen's third studio album, Sheer Heart Attack, marked a pivotal moment in the band's discography. Departing from the progressive themes that defined their first two albums, Queen embarked on a new sonic journey, crafting an album that would become a cornerstone of their signature sound. With Sheer Heart Attack, the band seamlessly blended pop-centric and conventional rock tracks, resulting in a masterpiece that would leave an indelible mark on the music world.

Featuring iconic tracks like 'Killer Queen', 'Brighton Rock', and 'Now I'm Here', this 13-track album is a testament to Queen's innovative spirit and creative genius. The album's eclectic mix of styles, from the energetic 'Stone Cold Crazy' to the melancholic 'Dear Friends', showcases the band's remarkable range and depth.

Produced by Queen and Roy Thomas Baker, Sheer Heart Attack was released to critical acclaim, with the single 'Killer Queen' reaching number two in the UK charts. The album's success can be attributed to the band's bold experimentation and their willingness to push the boundaries of rock music.

With a duration of 54 minutes, Sheer Heart Attack is a classic rock album that has stood the test of time. Released on EMI Records, this seminal work has been widely praised for its innovative production, clever songwriting, and exceptional musicianship. As a testament to Queen's enduring legacy, Sheer Heart Attack remains an essential listening experience for fans of classic rock, rock, and glam rock. Brian May, Roger Taylor, Freddie Mercury, and John Deacon's collective genius shines brightly on this album, cementing Queen's status as one of the most iconic and influential rock bands of all time.

This 2024 Reissue LP includes obi, pressed on 180g vinyl.

  • Hissing Bass-Heavy Audio

    4 out of 5 stars
    ghulinpxewDecember 24, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

The "s" sound comes out as a hiss and the IGD is most noticeable on "Now I'm Here." The audio is quite bass-heavy and lacks depth. That said, the music itself is, as always, fantastic.

  • Half-Speed Queen Vinyl

    5 out of 5 stars
    GEABDQOAJISINFSODecember 12, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Ah, this is where things get exciting with Queen! Now, this half-speed edition's got a bit of a boomy vibe, so I had to dial down the bass a notch. Seems like all the 2015 half-speed pressings are like that. The details are hiding in there, but you gotta fiddle with the EQ to bring 'em out. Some folks weren't too fond of the Ludwig remasters, and yep, this vinyl's cut from those. Sadly, there's some compression goin' on. I've got all Queen's albums on vinyl, multiple copies from different eras. Here's a tip: crank up the volume on these half-speed pressings! Generally, I'd say old pressings are better overall, as modern vinyl can be a letdown. The vocal details on this one are pretty decent, though. Analog recordings should really stick to the AAA path when they're being produced. These half-speeds are made from digital files, ya know? Anyway, some people expect vinyl to sound like a firework show, but it's got lower sound quality than CDs. If you're after the best sound, stick with CDs!

  • Early Version Sounds Incredible

    5 out of 5 stars
    Lvt_SiqpiqDecember 8, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

there should be a 'unicorny' type with the real inner sleeve, 4 rounded/cut edges, but no song words. seems like it's one of the earliest versions....sounds incredible.

  • Hissy but Good Timing

    4 out of 5 stars
    gabtisdatergcDecember 3, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Overall, this sounds quite good, though there's a bit of hissiness that might annoy some. Any thoughts on when it was made?

  • Queen's 1976 Peak Performance

    5 out of 5 stars
    Naqw0450November 24, 2025United StatesπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Picked up this 1976 reissue without any expectations about the quality. The highs are fantastic, vocals blend perfectly and the bass is incredibly dynamic. In my opinion, this is Queen at their peak, with a guitar sound that's absolutely incredible.
