Awesome collection all on one album. No reason to get the remastered version
This album's got noise problems everywhere. "Brothers in Arms" is nearly impossible to listen to because of the noise.
This is an absolute shambles! The original 1988 LP should've been a double album and included the studio version of Telegraph Road, not the live one. But this release just copies the same track list with new mistakes. Good grief! I do like the artwork, though. After checking out other reviews on Amazon, I found out that the version of Telegraph Road here isn't live but an edited studio version! Why edit it after 11 minutes when there's plenty of space on a double LP? Twisting By The Pool is the original single version, not the remix. Where Do You Think You're Going is an alternative version to the one on the Communique LP, I wonder if that's also swapped? Most Amazon buyers were unhappy with it. I've got an original, so I'm definitely not wasting my money on this seriously flawed record.
Initially, I had some concerns about this album, but I must admit, my copy turned out quite well. There were a few pops at the beginning, during "Private Investigations" and the start of side D with "Telegraph Road," but they vanished once the songs started playing. My main issue, though, is with the song listings. It says "Telegraph Road" is not live, but it clearly is a different version. It's a shame because this is a really nice "best of" collection, and it could've been even better with a bit more attention to detail.
This is an outstanding pressing, with fantastic separation and clarity... It's almost minimal, it feels almost binaural. It's worth the price if you can find it.
