Great album! I've got it hanging on my wall at home. It just brings a nice energy to the room.
Quite a few standout early Wailers tracks here, giving you a taste of their more psychedelic, edgier reggae sound. The recording quality is crisp, and the mixing is top-notch. All in all, a fantastic album. I'd rate it 3.5 stars. In my opinion, start with "Exodus", "Legend", and Tosh's "Legalize It", then snag this one after. Definitely worth checking out.
This album is absolutely stunning. The reissue featuring the replica Zippo lighter cover is pure enchantment. I just can't stop listening to it. Spend whatever it takes to own this legendary album by the Wailers
In my view, every dedicated music enthusiast should own this album. It marks the beginning of reggae's mainstream success and the rise of one of history's most talented songwriters and impactful musicians. Plus, the record cover is incredibly stylish (though many are sadly worn out now). Considering this album's significance, it's astonishing that you can still purchase it for fairly decent prices. I'd snag a copy before they become too expensive!
so this one's all about the catch a fire album, but it's just the raw tracks, ya know? none of them extra overdubs that got added in london. the songs where all cut and recorded at harry j and dynamic sound in jamaica, that's why it's called the 'original jamaican version'.
