Upon opening this newly pressed record and giving it a thorough clean, I'm happy to say that my copy was free from any unwanted hiss and sounded fantastic. I currently have about a dozen Tone Poet releases in my collection, and each one has been excellent in terms of being free from defects and delivering an amazing sound. Side A of this particular release is easily one of my favorite Donald Byrd tracks, and in the future, I'd be thrilled to get my hands on a mono pressing.

Without a doubt, this matches the excellent quality of the other Tone Poet series records I've bought. It's a fantastic addition to my collection. The soundstage is nearly 3D. If your into horn lead jazz, don't miss out on this one.
Absolutely flawless. A truly breathtaking collection of classic jazz. Byrd delivers an outstanding performance throughout. The vinyl pressing is spot on, zero complaints. The sound is crisp and rich, offering a realism that's way above average. Plus, it's an amazing bargain too.
This is an almost perfect pressing, perfectly centered, flat, heavy, and with virtually no surface noise (just a few pops on Side B). The soundstage is excellent and it sounds dynamic and natural. Highly recommend this version!
