In my recollection, this was a TV broadcast that also aired on FM radio. I might be mistaken, though, as I've never come across any video footage from this show as an adult. My memories from childhood are vague and hazy...There's been a release of this show remixed from the multitrack tapes from the night of the concert. It seems to be the full performance. This album has a much different mix than the official 2 CD release, also called "Absent Lovers"...Truly powerful live performances! I suppose the band wanted to go out at the peak of their abilities, as King Crimson essentially disbanded again for about a decade after this show. This was the end, for now. Final show.I've listened to several bootlegs and other live recordings from this period, and this is one of them. However, this one is not to be missed! This vinyl isn't flawless in terms of pure audiophile sound quality, sourced as it evidently is from a radio broadcast (though they might have acquired or, well, taken some pre-FM tapes, I guess...) but it sounds pretty good! I *think* it's slightly sped up and pitched too high by a touch, but I'm not certain and haven't compared it to confirm...I customized my copy of this record. I got some large stickers and had an artist friend create some artwork to make our own picture labels. Side one features the figure from the back cover of TOAPP, and side two has a reimagined color scheme from the Sleepless 12-inch single. It looks much classier than the "Buddy Love Sings About Girls" beneath MY full-color picture labels. One of a kind!Is it a good bootleg? Absolutely, yes. Is it worth paying top dollar for? I can't decide for you, but for me, now that a fully remixed complete show is available, not really. But, the official release isn't on vinyl, so... (Or on video! I know someone who claims to have a broadcast of some of these songs on a beta tape he got in a trade from a Canadian trader. Where is this show on DVD, Mr. Fripp???)
