I must say, I'm not sure if I'm just fortunate, but the 2 vinyls in my edition are perfectly flat, no pops or distortion. The sound is crystal clear and dynamic: rich bass and detailed highs. This is a genuinely pleasant surprise, I have to confess that I wasn't expecting much from this reissue.
After a bit of a wait due to the U.K. postal strikes, the CD has finally shown up. The cassette beat it here, and the vinyl should be here any moment… Can't wait to give the CDs a spin tomorrow. The packaging looks fantastic. The front cover is a tad darker than the original, though I'm not sure why. The only issue so far is that the double digipak is a bit unstable. It's just the thin spine keeping the two main parts together. All the other Deluxe Editions in The Cure‘s remastered CD series over the years had a sturdy plastic-wrap supporting the cover. All of them except Wish. Mine came in a flimsy shrinkwrap and once that's gone, it's all down to the thin spine… Come on, flimsy spine! You've got this! ;)
The pressing is really good and it's a blast to own it on a Picture Disc. This was the UK R.S.D. Black Friday 2022 release. It also included a super limited poster. Only 1500 were made.
I recieved my poster from the seller when i purchased it, it's numbered at 1500. Now i'm clueless about where to keep it since it's quite large and i don't wanna crease it ..
Really let down by this vinyl release. Hardly any imaging or soundstage to speak of. Lacks depth and width. Just feels like squashed digital bits on vinyl. Better off sticking with the digital copies and giving this one a miss.
