Gave this vinyl a spin after ages. Adore the album, but the record's quality is really bad, full of skips and pops despite being in mint condition. Such a shame, as I don't think we'll ever see a better pressing.

Glossy Version Superior

There are two main production versions out there. The more usual one features a darker, matte sleeve and darker labels. The rarer variant, meanwhile, boasts brighter artwork and a glossy sleeve. Something else to keep in mind about these two versions - the one with the lighter label text is noticeably different in terms of thickness and sound quality, and in my opinion, it's superior in both areas. I'd go as far as to say the darker version is almost as thin as a flexi-disc. I did a blind test with my significant other, and the darker copy just didn't have the same impact and richness as the other one - it was also quite crackly compared to what I'm used to. Looking at them side by side, I'd say both have dark labels, but the glossy cover version has a lot more blue in the center labels, while the matte version is more of a greenish grey. It's a shame, really...I'm probably going to sell the darker variant.
