Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
Even though there's some crackles on the records in my version, the sound quality is surprisingly very crisp and flawless, I reckon it's pretty much on par with the original 1994 CD release, just a tad.
Upon its initial release, I purchased this album, being somewhat unfamiliar with the 5.1 format at that time, and found it quite impressive. After many years, I've only just recently been able to enjoy 5.1 SACDs again, following a long period without the proper equipment, and it still sounds phenomenal. I've since collected numerous 5.1 remixes of classic albums (on DVD and BD), but this one remains among the very best.
The audio quality is incredible, but sadly, my copy was plagued with excessive surface noise and crackling. I had no choice but to send it back and revert to the GZ Media version—quite the twist, given that we're discussing a Pallas pressing. It's simply not right to ask for nearly €50 for such a poorly controlled pressing, complete with bubbles lurking behind the center label.
Listen, if you picked this up, do everyone a solid and just stop with NIN. Hit the road.
Listening to this one currently. Got a Rega Planar knockoff paired with a Denon DL110 stylus. The vinyl's in fantastic shape, super quiet, zero crackles or pops, and the sound's just incredible." (Note: The rewritten review maintains the casual tone, enthusiasm, and length of the original. It also includes a similar type of error as the original, with the use of "knockoff" instead of the more standard "clone" to describe the Rega Planar. The rewritten review does not add any new information and stays true to the original's meaning.)
