  In my personal opinion, this album stands out as one of their finest in terms of concept. It beautifully blends a deep contemplation of life with a gentle, understanding tone. Perhaps it's because I'm in my 50s, or maybe it's just that the music and lyrics resonate with me so profoundly... I see myself reflected in it, and it helps mend parts of me that were once broken. Thank you, U2. 😊 For some reason I can't explain, I always find myself playing the vinyl album in reverse order, from track 4 to 1.

  #43437 from Canada here. I shelled out $45.20 CAD, which is around US$32.81 with today's exchange rate. I must admit, though, that this entire box set is the most snobbish load of nonsense I've ever bought when purchasing an album. I only grabbed it because I had some credit at the record store, so I figured why not. I genuinely enjoy the music itself. I just don't understand all the excessive packaging and pointless extras like the newspaper, poster, etc. This band used to at least act like they stood for something and were against various issues, including consumerism and social justice and the environment. How does that align with a full-color boxed set filled with useless pieces of paper printed in color and only accessible to those who can afford it? And it's hardly a limited edition if there are at least 43,000 of them out there. I'm not buying this to resell it, I'm buying it to keep it. I'm just going to put the pretentious newspaper etc. back in the box unopened and listen to the vinyl and the CD, and I'll probably download the tracks. Maybe someday my kids will have something valuable on their hands if somehow 40,000 of these end up in the trash. U2 had an amazing streak of fantastic records until Joshua Tree, which is still my all-time favorite record, hit a pretentious snag with the album and film Rattle and Hum, which despite all the cheesy homages to the US I kind of enjoy, and then they cleverly pivoted to Zooropa and Achtung Baby. They achieved what few bands can, exceeding the usual creative lifespan of five years and instead have a great catalog that spans about 15 years. I lost track after that, honestly, because with Pop they started to sound like they were auditioning for American Idol. With this record, they have achieved a blend of their late '80s vibe with the near disco energy of the early '90s tunes. I don't recognize any of the songs as I'm stuck in the '80s when it comes to the radio, but this album showcases strong production values, and Bono, when he's using his mouth to sing and not preach, sounds pretty good for a guy who just turned 60 a week or two ago. I could listen to this record repeatedly. It's not packed with hits but it's highly listenable, if perhaps oversynthesized. It sounds as if the Edge took the day off for this one. Anyway, back to the packaging to get at the third record. It'll take up half the afternoon to listen to the whole thing.

  I've found this album to be even more pleasant than their previous one. I just hope this isn't their final work. As of now, this remains their last full-length collection of original songs. It's been far too long… U2 always has some meaningful insights to share, and I hope (as we near the end of 2025) that we won't have to wait too much longer for more from them again.

  I've found myself enjoying this album even more than their previous one. I sincerely hope that this isn't their final work. As of now, it remains their most recent full-length album featuring original tracks. It's been an agonizing wait... U2 always manages to deliver thought-provoking content, and I genuinely hope (as we approach the end of 2025) that we won't have to wait too much longer for their next release.
