No crackles or pops here, and I'm not sure what that's all about. But hey, the vinyl itself is well-pressed. I ordered mine from Amazon US. The sound quality seems pretty decent to me, with no harsh sibilance that I can detect, though I don't have the original to compare. As I mentioned, my turntable's been quiet, no disturbances. The album does lean a bit heavy on the bass, but I think it works. Can't wait for Zooropa and Achtung Baby to drop next!
When you shine a light through these records, you can see right through them (check out the pics), something not pointed out in the details here. Usually, that's a sign of top-notch vinyl.
It's fascinating how particular albums can bring back specific memories. I vividly recall the time when this album hit the shelves. Life was treating me well, and I was freshly engaged to my soulmate. So, even though a segment of the U2 fanbase wasn't keen on this album, I hold it dear due to the joyous moments it's tied to. U2 in the '90s was unparalleled. All three albums from that era are, in my opinion, their finest work. "Pop" marked the end of their experimental phase before they opted for a safer approach. Occasionally, I yearn for them to revisit that creative period (though, let's be real, it's unlikely to happen).
Fantastic pressing! It's crisp, silent, and mastered to perfection. It's a blast to listen to because, historically, this album was pretty roughly mixed, and this ain't no remix! All the imperfections are there, shining in clear, bright detail. Give it a listen.
This record has really impressed me, aside from a couple of pops and crackles at the start of each side, it sounds fantastic. The bass is absolutely stunning, just as it should be, and I'm hearing details that I'd never picked up on my old CD version. I'm in love with this album, and in my view, it's never sounded this good.
