Product Description

Pearl Jam's "No Code," released on August 6, 1996, under Epic, is a compelling blend of grunge, rock, and post-grunge that solidifies the band's reputation for raw, introspective, and powerful music. Clocking in at 49 minutes, this album features 12 tracks that showcase Pearl Jam's signature sound, with a mix of heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and Eddie Vedder's distinctive vocals.

Opening with the haunting "Sometimes" and culminating with the reflective "Around the Bend," "No Code" explores themes of identity, society, and personal struggle. Tracks like "Hail, Hail" and "Who You Are" deliver anthemic energy, while "In My Tree" and "Smile" offer moments of introspection and vulnerability. The album's standout, "Lukin," is a gritty, unapologetic track that highlights the band's ability to blend aggression with melody.

With its dynamic range and thought-provoking lyrics, "No Code" is a testament to Pearl Jam's enduring influence in the rock genre. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to their music, this album offers a rich and rewarding listening experience.

This is a 2021 Reissue Remastered released as a LP.

  • Poor Pressing, Great Music

    5 out of 5 stars
    tah_rak3 January 2026United Kingdom🇬🇧

Great album and excellent mastering, but the pressing is truly awful. The first copy I purchased was littered with partially melted bits of plastic fiber. The replacement was a tad better but still severely warped and had a few grey spots that produce a hissing noise when the stylus passes over them. On top of that, the gatefold is falling to pieces, likely due to dried-out glue. Don't they have any quality control in place? Overall, a bit let down by the pressing, but still 5 stars for the fantastic music and superb remaster.

  • Vinyl Dream After 25 Years

My vinyl copy sounds fantastic too! I'm still thrilled to finally have it on vinyl after waiting 25 years—that's a long time!

  • Reissue Boosts Classic Album's Value

    5 out of 5 stars
    swowwuczuzqiq9 October 2025United States🇺🇸

The re-issue's quality has definitely impacted the resale value of this one. I'd never part with my original copy, but it was quite a thrill to witness its price surge before the new version hit the market. If only the other recent pressing matched up. Regardless, I'm continually amazed by this album, whether it's the new or old edition. It remains my all-time favorite PJ album, then and now.

  • PJ Vinyl Disappointment

    1 out of 5 stars
    Hikngolix28 June 2025United States🇺🇸

I recall stumbling upon a quote from Eddie, along the lines of, “rock and roll's meant to be blasted loud” — and he nailed it. Little did he realize that this would involve turning up this vinyl record, which is FRIGGIN' barely audible. Making matters worse is ANOTHER PJ vinyl release filled with crackles. Do they care? Do they even listen? Apart from the 45 VS, (which is phenomenal), this is just another letdown. Yeah, PJ, we're spinning the black disc — and yeah, you're letting us down.

  • Reissue Identical to Original

    4 out of 5 stars
    jotxy9928 June 2025United States🇺🇸

Owned the first version, then sold it to grab the reissues (this one and yield) along with his ukulele record. Pretty much identical, save for the album art which is a tad different. The audio quality is spot on, can't detect any distinction at all on my copy.
