This thing sounds real muddy. What a bummer. That’s all I gotta say.
I'm trying to figure out when they re-released this. There's no details about it anywhere.
My version is pristine, zero pops, zero clicks. It doesn't have that “muddy” sound at all. This is my top PJ album, so it had to sound just right. Couldn't be happier with it!
PJ press really set the standard when it comes to quality sleeves, inners, artwork, and all the extras. Their gatefolds are some of the sturdiest I've seen. The vinyl was pretty grimy when I got it out of the inner sleeve, but it cleaned up nicely and plays smoothly without any clicks or pops. It's not perfect, but it's good enough. One of my favorite PJ albums, and there's so much to appreciate here. If you happen to find a copy, it's definitely worth adding to your collection.
The audio quality of this pressing is rich, pleasant, and crisp, but there's a fair bit of surface noise present. Fortunately, the noise is quite subtle when the music is playing. The record has numerous scratches likely caused by the stiff inner sleeves, which might be the root of the issue. However, the packaging is absolutely stunning.
