  • Fantastic Ambient Album Pressing

    5 out of 5 stars
    Fadwiiq17 April 2025United States🇺🇸

Amazing, top-notch track album. Ultimae is an outstanding label for anyone who loves ambient music and occasionally some electronic uptempo tracks. I was a bit concerned about the reviews mentioning issues with this pressing, but after giving it a thorough listen with high-quality gear, I didn't pick up on any of those problems. The overall volume is great; even during the calmer parts, there's no surface noise or other distractions that would take away from the experience. The dynamics are decent, good enough to enjoy these two records. The sound balance is well-tuned, with just the right amount of treble and bass, no hiss or anything like that.No clicks, no pops, or surface noise that I can hear in the quietest moments.Maybe I just got lucky, but for me, this is a fantastic job and pressing (and it looks gorgeous too ;) ).

  • Movements: A Timeless Masterpiece

    5 out of 5 stars
    Menltoc24 December 2024United States🇺🇸

Out of all the music I possess, if I had to keep just one album, it would undoubtedly be "Movements" by Solar Field. It transcends being just music. I often associate my favorite tunes with memories, having first heard them years ago, grown to love them, and then purchased them. However, Solar Fields, particularly "Movements," was an exception—I fell in love with it instantly. "Sol" is a rich composition that begins gently and calmly, gradually lifting you up to embark on the journey through "Movements." "Circles Of Motion" exudes a warmer vibe, slightly increasing the tempo to introduce "Discovering," a track that beautifully blends electronic and acoustic music. For me, the highlight of this album is "Sky Trees." As someone who adores melodies, I was captivated by this track from the very first play. Around the six-minute mark, when it takes off again, I'm overwhelmed with inspiration, joy, happiness, and other intense, positive emotions that I can't even express. "The Stones Are Not Too Busy" is a true signature track for Solar Fields; it starts off peaceful and simple, gradually introducing new elements one by one. It's incredibly varied yet never loses focus. The guitar plucking sound that begins around the five-minute mark is a breathtaking experience with good speakers. "Dust" is a soothing track that has helped me drift off to sleep on occasion. The warm bass is like a soft pillow for the ears. "Das Bungalow" begins peacefully but evolves into a melodically complex and intriguing piece of music, revealing new elements with each listen. "Feelings (Album Edit)" reminds me a bit of his remarkable in-game soundtrack for "Mirror's Edge"; it's clean and full of light, much like the following track, "Patterns." This track had the same impact on me as "Sky Trees," but this one nearly brought tears to my eyes. It transitions from a soft and tranquil composition to incorporating breakbeat elements in the middle, then returning to the ambient sound. The fact that it's only about four minutes long can be a bit frustrating, but I actually appreciate its brevity. If it were about eight to nine minutes, it might not have the same effect. "The Road To Nothingness" has a similar feel to the final track "Leaving Home" from the album of the same name; it's complex, slightly unsettling, sad, and intense. Fortunately, he created the last track, "Breeze," which gently brings us back to earth and leaves us with renewed strength to face the mundane reality with a smile. "Movements" is an album that evokes so many feelings within me that I struggle to put them into words, and it's something I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone. Magnus has truly outdone himself with this one. This album isn't just for Solar Fields' fans. It's not just for EDM/IDM enthusiasts. It's not just for people who enjoy music. This is an album for everyone.

  • Movements: Decade's Best Masterpiece

    5 out of 5 stars
    kicvuzldsuips14 December 2024United States🇺🇸

I'm thrilled Solar Fields dropped this masterpiece back in 2009, it's a lifesaver for someone like me trying to pick the top album from the past ten years. Movements is in a league of its own, far surpassing any other album I've come across, securing the #1 spot for both the year and the decade. I totally agree with the thought that this is the one album I'd hold onto. The intricacy and flow in each track are unmatched. With Movements, Solar Fields has outdone himself; who would've thought he could surpass Leaving Home like this? Looking at his growth over the last decade, I can only wonder what his next release will bring. I just want to express my huge thanks and congratulations to Magnus Birgersson for creating what will surely be a timeless masterpiece. And as long as you keep creating music, please maintain this incredible standard!

  • Sidereal's Poor Vinyl Quality

    3 out of 5 stars
    OfEcwiinUxtamoxoh8 July 2024United States🇺🇸

I must say, I'm rather let down by my purchase of this vinyl record. It's not that the music is poor (it's actually a fantastic album that I'd usually endorse), but the condition of this album, along with the other two I received from this label, is truly appalling. The vinyl is so full of noise that it completely overshadows the music; the pops and clicks are particularly harsh on ambient music like this. I find it utterly unacceptable to deliver a product in such a state. I've spent a week trying to clean the records, and I still can't eliminate all the noise. This has been my consistent experience with all the vinyl albums I've bought from this label. While it's possible that a cleaning machine could remove all the noise, I don't believe most consumers can easily afford such a device. I certainly can't, and I think any pressing that can't be adequately cleaned by an average person to allow for a pop and click-free listening experience is simply not up to par. I genuinely believe that Sidereal needs to improve the quality control of their vinyl pressings, and I would NOT advise anyone to buy this unless they possess a cleaning machine capable of removing all the grime from the records.

  • Perfect Condition, Amazing Album

Ordered two copies from Amazon last week, they came in great condition, still sealed! After listening to both a few times, they're flawless – no clicks or pops at all. The album is absolutely amazing!!!! (2023 version)
