Product Description

Immerse yourself in the raw energy and pioneering spirit of Television with their live album, "Live at the Old Waldorf." Captured in San Francisco in 1978, this electrifying performance showcases the band's influential blend of proto-punk, post-punk, art rock, and new wave, solidifying their status as innovators in the New York underground music scene.

The album opens with "The Dream's Dream," setting the stage for a dynamic journey through Television's discography. Tracks like "Venus" and "Marquee Moon" highlight the band's intricate guitar work and poetic lyrics, while their cover of "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" adds a rebellious twist to the classic Rolling Stones hit.

With a runtime of just over an hour, "Live at the Old Waldorf" is a testament to Television's enduring legacy and their ability to captivate audiences with their unique sound. This live recording is a must-experience for fans of the band and anyone interested in the evolution of punk and alternative rock.

this is an official release. the label also put out these colored live 12''s featuring kevin ayers, caravan... but for me, this one's got the top-notch sound quality. you'd hardly tell it's a live album. so don't let it slip by you

  • Lossless Live Masterpiece

Alright, I purchased this edition last week. Despite the extended sides and uncut tracks, I found the audio quality to be superb. Any editing, if present, is likely between songs. There's hardly any audience noise. Each instrument and Verlaine's voice are distinctly separated. It's easy to pick up on Lloyd's intricate work and all the subtle details Ficca adds with the drums. I was doubtful, but after one listen, I'm convinced the quality is as good as you could hope for. I believe this is the greatest live album ever, and since it was my first time listening to it in lossless quality and on vinyl, I might just be amazed by all I'd missed before. I highly doubt anyone would be disappointed with this version, though.

Alright, I picked up this version just last week. Sure, the tracks are lengthy and uncut, but I must say, the audio quality is top-notch. Any editing, if there is any, is likely just between the songs. There's hardly any background noise from the crowd. Every instrument and Verlaine's voice are distinctly clear. You can really pick up on the detailed work Lloyd does and all the subtle things Ficca brings to the drums. I was doubtful at first, but after one spin, I'm sold—this quality is as good as you could ask for. I reckon this might just be the greatest live album ever, and since it's my first time hearing it in lossless quality and on vinyl, I'm probably just amazed at all the nuances I overlooked before. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this version.

About Television
