  • Terrible Noise Persists

Mine is terrible. It's making noise everywhere, even after I cleaned it with ultrasound. Really lets me down.

  • Enjoyable Record, Packaging Flaws

    5 out of 5 stars
    sile_be26 April 2024United States🇺🇸

Initially, I had my doubts about this purchase, but I'm genuinely pleased I went ahead with it. The audio quality is fantastic, way better than I anticipated. The record itself is flawless, no issues here. My only minor complaint is the packaging could've been more thoughtful. A gatefold with some photos would've been a nice touch. And hey, where are the liner notes? I'm sure Patti Smith would've had something to say. And don't even get me started on paper sleeves, a common gripe for sure. All that aside, I'd still wholeheartedly recommend this to any TV/Verlaine enthusiast.

  • Vinyl Captures Live Energy

    5 out of 5 stars
    Sofef_Wid_Resemzh24 April 2024United States🇺🇸

I'm really happy to have this on vinyl. The sound quality is fantastic, in my view. It's warm and rich, with a solid bass, and the guitars still sound crisp and clear, while the hi-hat stands out. It feels like a well-captured, raw live performance. It really brings the energy of the night to life. Everyone played brilliantly. I was a bit too excited, being one of those who thinks Television is as important as The Beatles or Pink Floyd, and I probably paid too much, but I don't regret it at all.

  • Live Recording Worth It

    4 out of 5 stars
    ipamiltikam21 April 2024United States🇺🇸

The pressing is spot on. I didn't _adore_ the mastering. It's a tad lacking in energy. The instruments sound crisp, clearly recorded from the board. The audience chatter and noise add to the atmosphere. Worth the purchase.

  • Extended Solo Brilliance

    5 out of 5 stars
    jzupadrki16 April 2024United States🇺🇸

The value lies in "1880 Or So" alone, which completely surpasses the shorter, album version, especially with its extended solo section at the end.

About Television

Television, not to be confused with the telecommunication medium, is a pioneering band that has left an indelible mark on the music scene. Emerging in the mid-1970s, they are often credited as one of the key players in the proto-punk and post-punk movements, blending raw energy with poetic lyrics and intricate guitar work. Their sound, which also touches on art rock and new wave, is characterized by the distinctive, jagged guitar playing of Richard Lloyd and Tom Verlaine, creating a unique and influential style. With their debut album "Marquee Moon," Television set a new standard for alternative music, showcasing Verlaine's cryptic, literary lyrics and the band's tight, dynamic performances. Their music continues to resonate with fans and inspire new generations of musicians, making Television a vital and enduring force in the world of rock.
